Make Your Own World DIY Club is UIUC’s first student organization dedicated purely to hands-on crafts. We created this club to give students a warm, low-pressure space to take a real break from academics, meet new friends, and experience the calming, therapeutic joy of making something with their own hands.
Throughout the semester, we host beginner-friendly DIY workshops that explore a wide range of materials, techniques, and cultural inspirations. In past events, we’ve brought students together through pixel beads, stone clay sculpture, LEGO builds, and creative design sessions like tote bags and fans. This semester, we’re keeping our most-loved classics while adding fresh new crafts such as pipe cleaners and sealing wax, so there’s always something new to try.
No experience is required. We provide the materials, clear step-by-step guidance, and a supportive community that respects every student and every culture. Come as you are, create at your own pace, and leave with something uniquely yours.
